The Oscars!

Yes they are this Sunday and I'm very excited! For many years ol' Willis and I threw the notorious Thompson-Willis Oscar Party. This year we are having a small party here at home: Pete, Sally and me. I am hoping to make a whole-wheat crust pizza to celebrate.

First of all, here are the films I saw this year nominated in the big categories:
-- Half Nelson
-- The Departed
-- Notes on a Scandal
-- The Devil Wears Prada
-- Volver
-- Little Children
-- Dreamgirls
-- Little Miss Sunshine
-- Babel
I wish I had seen The Queen but alas I did not.

Here's what I think. Not who I think will win but who I want to win. Keep in mind I am only voting within the movies I actually saw.

* Best Actor: Ryan Gosling.

* Best Actress: Penelope Cruz

* Best Supporting Actor: tough one. I guess...Eddie Murphy but I would be happy with Alan Arkin or Mark Wahlberg as well.

* Best Supporting Actress: Adriana Barraza. Jennifer Hudson in second place.

* Best Director: Marty!

* Best Picture: I really loved Little Miss Sunshine. But...I'm going to go with The Departed. Tough one though.
