TV update
This post is kind of weird. It's about TV and confesses an obsession. Did you know that I love Thirtysomething? Well I do. I watched it when I was a kid, and I loved it, and I watched it in re-runs during college (during college I taped every episode and tracked each one in a notebook with top plot points -- I know, that's crazy!!), and again in re-runs when I lived in West Seattle back in 2000. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD and I don't know why it's not out yet.
I am always very excited when someone from Thirtysomething is on something new. For example, Ken Olin ("Michael") was involved in Alias as a producer of some kind, and also had a recurring role on a couple of episodes (he seems to be doing more producing than acting now). Timothy Busfield ("Elliot") showed up on West Wing ("Danny") and Studio 60 (which I didn't like, so didn't watch after 2 episodes). Patricia Wettig ("Nancy") was on Alias too. (Also, she's married to Ken Olin.)
Erich Anderson played Billy on Thirtysomething, and then was on NYPD Blue and Felicity ("Felicity's Dad") and a bunch of other shows. Just the other day Pete pulled out an old videotape and said, "Can I tape over this?" I asked what the label said. "Billy #1" he said. Of course I said he couldn't tape over that, as it's the first episode that Billy appears in. And I might want to watch it again someday. ESPECIALLY since I have an AUTOGRAPHED headshot of Erich Anderson. It turns out that Vegh knows him, and told him I'm a fan, and he signed a photo and Vegh sent it to me. Too cool! It's on our wall, right above Pete's Certificate of Honor and Appreciation for demonstrating at the RNC in NY in 2004.

It says, "Thanks Blade", and then it's signed.
So anyway I have been watching Brothers & Sisters on DVD. I was attracted to it because of its great cast. Including Patricia Wettig. (And Ron Rifkin [whom I know from Alias] and Rachel Griffiths [from 6 Geet Under] and Sally Field.) Anyway I was watching the credits and I recognized one of the writers' names - David Marshall Grant, as the guy who played Melissa's friend Russell. So I went onto IMDB and looked him up, and indeed it's the same guy.
While I was on IMDB I read one of the comments about Brothers & Sisters. It said that Brothers & Sisters is the best show on TV since Knots Landing!
Knots Landing!
Where has this person been? True I've never watched Knots Landing so I guess I can't fairly judge, but this is my blog so I can say whatever I want, which is: that's insane!
Anyway, it's a good show and I'm going to keep watching it. But it's no Thirtysomething or anything.
